HGUC - EX-S Gundam

1/144 Scale guy from 2002; yes! that's 16 years ago.  I bought it when it first came out, snapped built in the same night, and it had been sitting around for a very long time.

Not the most slick looking EX-S in the market, but still has great porportion and details.  It's easy to tell this is the one that had the team's attention when they designed it.

This one is finished with spray cans then hand painted.  And I've got spoiled by airbrush and Italian compressor for way too long and found spray cans difficult to work with.   The air is not stable, the paint is overall too thin to my liking and everything does require multi-layers ...  and also it leak into masking tape easily ..   and I also realized zippo lighter fluid does damages the paint ...   well ..  and i ended up losing patient.   The only reason going with spray it doesn't require much setup and clean up, which makes painting flexible to a busy schedule.

Overall this is still a great looking kit, it was a major improvemtn to its 1/144 predecessor and also proven the popularity of the Gundam Sentinel line for later mg models and in 2018, the 1/100 deep striker.  it's a bit old school now, but I did enjoy most of the process.
