Playability:
This bass is overall on the 'chunky' and 'raw' side .  Neck feels like a solid Precision, the slightly heavy body does give that tad punch.  The glossy coating all over the bass might not be preferred by everybody.  no pickguard means more gap space between the body and the string that requires some time to get used to.     It's a blend of their new and old fashion that makes this bass different than the stock instruments.

Sound:

This bass sounded as good and woody as how it looked, overall response is slightly slower and less aggressive.  the mid is has more depth and sweetness.

Single H pickup wired in parallel, no switching, no bs.  That brings the modern cutting SR flavor back..  believe it or not, a large portion of that Stingray sound come from the pickup and electronic.

The bass is alot more forgiving with the mid and low boost ..  lots variation to mess around with and they all sound good.

Thoughts:
It's a great bass that looked awesome, easy to play that's failrly efficient.     It's a combination of a bunch of new and old things they put together to form this awesomeness.  1000 years old redwood top is certainly unbeatable.   It has lots of similarity but still not a typical Stringray, which makes it a perfect companion to a more stock bass and will make your day when you want something more woody and organic.
